Celebrated in Nepal and India, Diwali is considered the "Festival of Lights" by Hindus, Buddhists, Jainists and Sikhs. Each of these religions has different traditions and stories behind the significance of this holiday. However, it is celebrated by just about everyone in India and Nepal, regardless of their religion. The date is set by the Hindu calendar and usually takes place between October and November by the Gregorian calendar.
