The Middle Ages took place roughly between the 11th Century and the 15th Century. The Battle of Hastings and the Normal Conquest in 1066 is generally considered the beginning of the Middle Ages, while the death of Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485 is considered the end of the era. Some of the defining events of the time are the Magna Carta, the Crusades, the Doomsday Book, the Knights Templar, the Black Death, and the Wars of the Roses.
