This war, which was caused by King Louis XIV and his quest to extend the power of France, was called the War of Spanish Succession in most of the world, but in the British colonies, it was called Queen Anne's War. It was fought mostly in Europe, with various Indian tribes allying with each country. It was also called the Third Indian War.
