Narcissistic personality disorder, also called narcissism, is a mental disorder wherein the narcissist has an inflated sense of his or her importance as well as a craving for admiration. The need for prestige and power, as well as vanity and concern for personal adequacy are marks of NPD. Aside from the obvious symptoms, others include appearing unemotional and lack of empathy.
