Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are essentially interchangeable, stemming from the fact that the term ADD was replaced with ADHD in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders in 1994. Currently, the term can either mean ADHD, or one of three subtypes of that disorder. The hallmarks of the disorder are inattention, distractibility, disorganization, forgetfulness, and procrastination.
