Pawtucket is located in Providence County, Rhode Island. Founded in 1671 at the falls of the Blackstone River and the upper tidewaters of Narragansett Bay, the city was incorporated in 1886. During the Industrial Revolution, the city was a major contributor of cotton textiles. Besides textiles, the city hosted a variety of machine and iron working shops. Today, the city is the fourth largest city in Rhode Island.
