Cupertino is a suburban city on the western edge of the Santa Clara Valley in Santa Clara County, California, situated directly west of San Jose, with parts of the city extending into the Santa Cruz Mountains. Cupertino was named after Arroyo San Jose de Cupertino, now known as Stevens Creek, which had been named for Saint Joseph of Cupertino.
